How to Enrol @ Sydney Theatre SchoolWe look forward to your audition and have outlined the following requirements to help you prepare for it.

Monologue Audition

We invite part-time course applicants to perform a single monologue (two monologues for the Advanced Diploma of Arts course) from either a contemporary play (i.e. written after 1950) and/or a monologue from a Shakespearean play.

Why not visit our resources section and download a copy of our Audition Piece Suggestion Guide 2012 to review some of the School’s suggested performance pieces.

Interview

After the audition, selected applicants will be asked to undertake a short interview. Here, you will have the opportunity to talk us through your commitment to a career in the performing arts industry and ask any questions you may have about the course. Successful candidates will be required to submit a deposit to secure their place on the course.

Audition Dates

Auditions for our 2014 intake will commence in November 2013.

Video Audition

Auditions are conducted at the school in Sydney, Australia. If you’re not able to be in Sydney for the audition you may submit an audition by video (CD, DVD, Memory Card or Online Multimedia). Simply tick the appropriate box on the application form to let us know that you will be using this audition method, then download a copy of our Video Audition Guidelines 2012 for detailed instructions.

Restrictions

While we appreciate that a passion for the arts knows no age limit, we do require that all applicants be aged 17 years or above by the commencement of the course.

Auditions & Interviews Conditions  
Each applicant is required to attend an audition and interview session. Applicants will be contacted via telephone and/or email to arrange their audition time. Successful applicants will be required to pay a course deposit within 7 days of placement notification otherwise their placement will be forfeited.
